Posted in the topic What does the “Origin DNS Error” mean and how does it relate to DNS Errors? in the Forum Off-Topic Discussions
    October 30, 2025 3:10 AM PDT

Origin DNS Error (also commonly displayed as Error 1016 Origin DNS Error) is an error message that the DNS query was sent to the origin server and the record or configuration required at the origin was unavailable or inaccessible. That is, the query made to the DNS answered and the origin was inaccessible due to a wrong DNS configuration or a record not found. It is one particular form of DNS Error.

Posted in the topic How does 429 protect against brute-force attacks? in the Forum Off-Topic Discussions
    October 28, 2025 4:04 AM PDT

The 429 error code supports the prevention of brute-force attack as a temporary security block. A server which notices a high number of failed login attempts to the same source will send a 429 status code. This works as an effective way of rate limiting, and the attacker would not be able to guess the credentials fast and gain access to the login feature.
